About Us
History
Our story starts way back,
OYAWI is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) etstablished in the year 2019 and registered with NGO Co-ordination Board of Kenya on 17th December, 2020.
The organization carries out its operations in five (5) counties within Kenya namely:- Nairobi, Kajiado, Homa-Bay, Siaya and Kakamega. The organization intends to widen its scope of operation into the entire country in order to accomplish its mission and objectives
The organization’s main objective is to empower and boost all vulnerable youths and women across Kenyan community. To sensitize them on their rights and provide basic skills which enable them to engage in income generating activities for self sufficiency and self-sustainability.
OBJECTIVES
- To promote economic empowerment among vulnerable community members.
- To address social and economic challenges facing women, youths and the aged in the societies across Kenya community. This will help in addressing issues related to gender based violence, FGM, health and other behavior change approaches.
- To initiate sustainable youths’ and women development programs and projects
- To provide socio-economic support to the vulnerable groups in order to uplift their living standards.
Our Social Economic support include:
- Donation of food stuffs especially to seniors
- Clothing (Uniforms to the vulnerable children/Subsidies education materials)
- HIV and AIDS awareness/mitigation
- Creation of awareness on their rights and responsibilities in the community and their families
- Provision of sanitary towels and dippers to the vulerable
- Subsidize school fees
- Sports
- Information communication technology (ICT)
- Mitigation against drug and substance abuse
- Helping the seniors to maintain their physical fittness through exercising, dancing, jogging and spiritual nourishment.
- Recreation
- Exchange programs especially to youths and women
- Naturing of talents
